Privacy-safe analytics is a design discipline, not a banner added at launch. Malaysian teams should connect each collected signal to a defined business purpose and involve qualified legal counsel for advice specific to their obligations.
Five configuration questions
Ask why a field is needed, whether a less identifying alternative works, who can access it, when it will be deleted, and which vendors receive it. Record the answers alongside the tracking specification.
Use technical controls
Disable automatic collection where it exceeds your plan. Restrict dashboards by role, shorten retention where possible, filter internal traffic, and test consent states before release. Configuration should match what your notices tell people.
